From NZHerald Sideswipe

I hardly read NZ Herald, it's too much for me, but my favourite part is "sideswipe", some of the posts are so funny:

A reader writes: "I was reading a book in the departure lounge at Phoenix Sky Harbour Airport when the PA burst into life (names changed to protect the innocent): 'Laura Kelly, paging passenger Laura Kelly, please contact your hotel. You have left your pyjamas behind.' Smiles exchanged between passengers. Twenty minutes later: 'Laura Kelly, paging passenger Laura Kelly, it's okay, your mother has picked up your pyjamas.' The feeling of relief throughout the terminal was palpable ..."


Motorcyclists in Nigeria must wear helmets, but those who can't afford them are improvising by wearing dried pumpkin shells on their heads. The BBC says some riders are wearing calabashes, used to carry liquid.
